We played a crucial role in enhancing the existing miOXXO app, focusing on optimizing the user experience and expanding its functionality. Our work included refining the grocery purchasing process, improving the integration of QR code payments for expedited in-store transactions, enriching the OXXO PREMIA® rewards program, and enhancing the home delivery feature. Through meticulous development and leveraging advanced iOS technologies, we ensured the app remained a convenient, secure, and comprehensive platform for OXXO customers across Mexico to manage their purchases and transactions.

In our capacity as a team of Senior iOS Software Engineers at OXXO, we were tasked with the significant responsibility of improving and expanding the capabilities of the miOXXO app. This app, already a key player in the digital offering of Mexico's leading convenience store chain, required updates and enhancements to meet the evolving needs of its users and to incorporate the latest technological advancements in mobile applications.

Our contributions were multi-faceted and aimed at both enhancing the user interface and the backend systems to support a seamless, intuitive user experience. Specifically, we focused on the following areas:

Optimizing QR Code Payments: We improved the Pagos Rápidos feature, streamlining the process for users to generate and use QR codes for quick and secure in-store transactions, making the app more efficient for everyday use.

Enriching the Rewards Program: We expanded the OXXO PREMIA® program within the app, allowing users to more easily earn, track, and redeem points for free products, thereby enhancing customer engagement and loyalty.

Refining Home Delivery Options: We enhanced the app's home delivery feature, ensuring a broader and more flexible selection of products available for delivery, improving the user interface for easier navigation through product categories, and integrating more efficient ordering and tracking mechanisms.

Through these targeted enhancements, we significantly improved the miOXXO app, not just in terms of its functionality but also its ability to provide a more enjoyable and engaging user experience. Our efforts ensured that OXXO could continue to offer its customers a comprehensive digital solution for grocery shopping, in-store payments, rewards, and more, all while maintaining the highest standards of convenience and security.
